CAMBRIDGE GLASS CAPRICE BLUE STERLING SILVER OVERLAY RELISH SIGNED ROCKWELL 2of2
This piece was made by the Cambridge Glass Company, formerly of Cambridge, Ohio and is part of their Caprice pattern line.
This is a gorgeous piece of high quality hand-made and American made pressed elegant glass.
It is made in a pale blue colored glass that Cambridge called “Moonlight Blue”.
The piece is also decorated with a sterling silver overlay decoration six places inside the bowl.
The outer rim and the top of the divider are all done in sterling as well.
As evidence of the high-quality piece of glass this is it has been factory ground and polished on the underside of the foot so it will sit level.
I do not see any marks to the silver. I did give a bit of a polish to the sterling to show what it does look like when polished.
This piece is signed with the “Rockwell” acid stamp on the underside – see the last photo.
To the best of my recollection this one and the sister piece I have also listed are the only two pieces of Caprice I ever owned that were signed Rockwell.
FYI – these Rockwell acid stamp marks are notoriously hard to spot on the glass surface, but this one is located near the center of the piece on the underside.
My photo of the mark is from this actual piece of glass.
This piece has been part of my personal collection since 1998.
I am in the process of selling this collection that at one time consisted of over 600 unique pieces of Caprice.
You frequently see Crystal or clear colored Caprice with sterling overlay decoration but you seldom see the Moonlight Blue color with the sterling silver decoration.
Specifically, this is the Cambridge Glass Caprice Pattern # 120 6-3/4” 2 Part Relish.

According to this book this piece was produced by Cambridge Glass during the period from 1936 to 1958.
A beautiful and rare piece of elegant glass!

Age and Condition
The piece dates to circa 1936-1958.
It is in excellent to near mint original condition.
Please look closely at the photos as they are an important part of my description of this item.
There are no chips, flea bites, cracks, hairlines or repairs to the glass.
Only some minor tarnish to the silver.
There is one minor very tiny area of loss to the silver; the remainder of the silver decoration all seems firmly attached to me.
There are a few light signs of use and a slight amount or wear to the underside of the foot that I would expect see on a piece of glass of this age.
A stunning piece in near pristine condition!!
Please keep in mind these photos may be blown up at least 8-10 times normal, so anything you see will look 8-10 times larger in the photos than it really is.
Please note: if you see a dark spot in the photos it is from my camera and is not a mark on the piece.
It will be either just to the right of center towards the bottom or slightly above center on the right side of the photo.
Approximate Dimensions
About 7.625” (19.4 cm) across the handles by about 6.5” (16.5 cm) wide and sits about 1.625” (4.1 cm) off the table.

About 1 pound .5 ounce (468 grams).

The only form of payment I accept from international buyers is Pay Pal.
No exceptions!
International shipments will encounter longer shipping times due to distance and Customs requirements.
The USPS says 6-10 business days, but it can take longer.
International buyers are responsible for all customs fees, duties, import taxes or other related customs or import charges and all our out of pocket costs incurred in the shipment of packages internationally.
International shipment options will be via USPS First Class Mail (when the item being shipped meets the requirements of that service) or Priority Mail when it does not.
